Q. What is “phishing”?

A. “Phishing” is a popular technique used today by spammers to obtain consumers’ personal information (ie. passwords, SSN, credit card info., etc.). The technique is called “phishing” because spammers claim to be part of a trustworthy company, brand, or computer administrator in order to fish for valuable personal information.
