Import a Contact List in Outlook 2010

NOTE: Before you begin, make sure your list of email addresses is saved
in a single-sheet .csv file in Excel.

1. Open Outlook 2010.

2. Go to Contacts.

3. Click the “Folder” tab.

4. Click the “New Folder” button and name it.

5. Click “File” and go to “Options.”

6. In the left-hand Options column, click “Advanced.”

7. Scroll down to the Export section and click the “Export” button.

8. In the Import/Export wizard, select “Import from another program or
file” and click “Next.”

9. Choose “Comma Separated Values (Windows)” and click “Next.”

10. Click “Browse” and locate your .csv Excel file.

11. Choose “Do not import duplicate items” and then click “Next.”

12. Choose the destination – you may have to scroll up to see the
Contact folder you just created – and click “Next.”

13. Check the box next to the .csv file (you may also have to click “Map
Custom Fields”).

14. On the right-hand list, scroll down to +Email.

15. Drag the first email address on the left and drop it onto the +Email
field.

16. Click “OK.”

17. Click “Finish” and wait until the progress window disappears.

 

Send to a Contact List in Outlook 2010

1. Create your email.

2. Click the “To…” button.

3. In the Address Book, click the drop-down menu on the top-right and
choose the desired Contact List. In this case, the list you just created
an imported a .csv into.

4. To choose everyone on the list, select the first entry, scroll down
to the bottom, hold down the Shift key and click the last entry. This
will grab every entry in between.

5. With all entries highlighted, click the “To ->” button (Or BCC ->, if
you prefer, for mass mails – this will hide the giant list of email
addresses). The names will all be copied into that field.

6. Click “OK.”

7. Put any finishing touches on the email and click “Send.”
