To download this guide for reference, click here.

To use the Polycom CX3000 without a computer, follow these steps:

1. Plug in the power adapter into the wall and the network cable into the VLAN-activated network jack. Phone should power itself on. It should sign in to its own Skype for Business (S4B) account.

2. To unlock the phone, enter the Phone Unlock PIN: 111111. Press Done.

3. Enter the phone number to dial. To hang up the call, press the Hang-up button or the End button.

  • If dialing a campus number, only 5-digits are needed.
  • If dialing a (217) number, only 7-digits are needed.
  • If dialing outside the 217 area code, enter all 10-digits (if you have long-dialing privileges).

To use the Polycom CX3000 with a computer, follow these steps:

1. If you want to sign into your own S4B account and have a laptop available, use the optional USB cable to aid in signing into your S4B account. If you use the USB cable, sign in to S4B on your computer. Once signed in, you should then have access to your Contacts and a phone dial pad.

  • Enter your S4B phone number, including country code and area code.  No dashes, spaces, etc needed, just your 11-digit phone number.  Press NEXT.
  • Enter your S4B Conferencing Pin (6 – 11 digits).  Press SIGN-IN.

2. To make a call to one of your contacts, use the Up/Down arrow keys to select Contacts on the screen. Press the “Select” button.

3. Choose from your Contact Groups which group you’d like and then navigate to the contact you wish to call. Press the Call button when the contact is selected on screen.

4. To make a call to someone outside your Contacts list, navigate to the “Search or Dial a Phone Number” choice (icon looks like a magnifying glass on a keypad) on the screen using the Up/Down arrow keys. Press “Select.”

5. To log off the phone, press the Menu button (the button below the yellow triangle) and scroll down to “Switch User.” Press “Yes.”
