Harmful email regarding email quota
Email sent to the ACES Faculty e-mail list on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 2 pm:
Dear ACES faculty and staff,
Many people on campus are receiving a harmful email claiming that your email quota needs to be increased. Those emails are not from the university and instead are phishing attempts designed to get your account and password information. Please delete them without clicking on their links.
For more information about phishing scams, including an example of the harmful email, see the CITES page here (copy and paste into your address bar): http://go.illinois.edu/phishinghole
As usual, reach out to me or your friendly IT staff if you have questions.
Sincerely,
David
